Polaris DX Launches Igloo Pro, a Smart, Fast, Low-Cost Diagnostics Device Delivering Lab-
Quality Results Onsite for Wellness Indicators Transforming Dental Surgery Outcomes
London, 14 March 2025: Polaris DX, the smart-tech diagnostics company, is launching Igloo
Pro, a smart low-cost diagnostics device delivering lab-quality results in minutes for key
wellness markers which a growing body of research has found are fundamental to achieving
optimal outcomes for patients in dental surgery and oral health.
Designed in Germany by DX365 and built in Poland by a high-tech electronics manufacturer,
Igloo Pro is a universal analysis platform, which can measure the level of markers such as
Vitamin D, Ferritin (iron deficiency) and CRP (inflammation), for dentists and other healthcare
professionals, ushering in a new era for rapid point-of-care testing (POCT).
Timothy Ritson, Polaris DX’s CEO said: “Dentists are increasingly analysing client health
indicators, including Vitamin D levels, prior to undertaking expensive dental procedures, such
as implants. Many people in the UK are deficient in this essential nutrient which plays a critical
role in maintaining healthy bones and teeth by promoting calcium absorption and helping to
regulate levels of calcium and phosphorus in the blood. Igloo Pro provides dentists with a fast,
easy-to-use, high-tech solution to analyse patients’ wellness markers on-site, enabling them to
recommend supplements to improve these. Research suggests this may help improve patient
recovery and lower failure rates following surgery.”
Igloo Pro offers several unique features, which include:
Igloo Pro aims to replace the current pathology model in the UK which can be slow and time
consuming and has a much higher negative environmental impact. The device is simple to use
but it is also smart. The Igloo Pro stores clients’ results on the machine enabling these to be
monitored over time and allowing for instant sharing – via messaging or email – with the client
and other medical professionals. It is also linked to the DX365 laboratory via the cloud to
enable real-time calibration of new tests as they are released and instant software updates
ensuring that the platform is always optimised.
Richard Pollock, Biological Dentist and Implant Surgeon, Chelsea Dental Clinic, concluded:
“The strong benefits of being able to analyse Vitamin D levels and other key health markers on-
site shouldn’t be underestimated. The Igloo Pro enables me to perform a simple capillary blood
test to ascertain patients’ needs, and to then guide them as to which additional supplements
they might require thereby optimising treatment. This capability is proving transformative in
terms of patient outcomes.”
The Igloo portfolio of approved capillary assays, which is continuously expanding, includes:
These are sold in packs of 25 at price ranging from £10.00-£21.00. The Igloo Pro is being
offered at a special launch price of £2,000 (list price £2,250) per unit at BDIA.
